Children are curious, active learners with discrete interests, abilities, and needs. They learn by ascribing meaning to what they do and need to pattern their meaning of Mathematics. Participation in Mathematics competitions allows pupils to develop essential links among concrete, pictorial, and symbolic representations of Mathematical concepts. ICATS is one of these competitions in which the participants realize that it is acceptable to solve problems in a variety of ways and that a variety of solutions may be acceptable. The contest tests candidates’ abilities to;

(1) Understand and apply Mathematical concepts and skills in a variety of contexts.
(2) Reason and communicate Mathematically through writing Mathematical explanations.
(3) Solve unfamiliar problems, and use the results to make predictions, or comment on the context. Pupils of Silver Oaks Schools & Colleges participated enthusiastically in the International ICATS Mathematics.

Competition 2024 and delivered excellent results. We had 11 National Toppers and 44 Provincial Toppers, this year. Congratulations to all the winners & their families!
