Oakians undertake educational trips
Silver Oaks School combined enthusiasm, fun and learning at its annual educational trip.
Pre-School and Primary children went to Fatima Jinnah Park, to enjoy the greenery, beautiful views and having fun in the play areas. Kids acquired the knowledge that Mughal art is used in most of the sculptures constructed in Fatima Jinnah Park and were also given awareness about protecting and preserving the environment.
Middle School, O-Levels and Secondary traveled to Khanpur Dam, which is fed from the waters of river Haro. The students relived the history, where the fore fathers of local Rajas were given much of the local land by the British during the nineteenth century, as a reward for their cooperation in defeating the Sikhs. This land was used to construct the dam, which was named after the town “Khanpur”, located between Taxila and Haripur.
Silver Oaks School, with a mission to “develop enlightened leadership” of tomorrow, has just commenced the academic year 2014-15. This activity is one of the many co-curricular events which are designed to help them formulate well-rounded personalities. Speaking about the event and its purpose, Head of Co-Curricular, Sadaf Taimur, quoted Einstein who said: “I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.”
