Student Week Celebrated @ Silver Oaks

Annual Student Week for Academic Year 2018-19 was celebrated at Silver Oaks Schools & College from November 12 – 17, with Oakians participating in various activities– co-curricular competition Finals; Sports; Art Gala; Drama Club; Cultural Celebrations; Food Festival and Recreational Trips. At Primary & Middle School, after intense competitions in Terms 1 & 2, pupils competed in the Term 3 rounds of “Spellathon”; “Reading & Research”; English & Urdu Debates; and Creative Writing in both languages at campus level. Finalists then competed across the school. Overall winners in the finals were awarded shields and medals at the Ceremony Hall in Faraz Campus. Showcasing the Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence, annual sports day, as part of Student Week, was held at Ayub Park Sports Complex and included football, cricket, badminton and races. Winning teams were awarded with trophies and medals. To engage pupils with their language and culture in a fun way and to encourage them to develop the skills of listening and performing, drama club was organized. Oakians portrayed different characters, authors and poets to entertain their peers and teachers. Art Gala proved to be a lot of fun where pupils used colors as a medium to explore a variety of materials and craft skills. To celebrate creativity and diversity during student week, cultural and food festival provided Oakians to dress up in cultural clothes and enjoy food specialties of a range of countries. Pre-school pupils enjoyed Show & Tell, Story Presentation, Spot-it Games and Color Days and all pupils enjoyed sports. The week ended with recreational trips to Ayub Park (Pre-school), Shakarpariyan (Primary) and Lake View Park (Middle). During the week, 4 Oakians - Washma Khan(Newton Campus); Ahmed Akhtar (Wordsworth Campus); Eusbeha Pasha & Maryam Khurram (Adam Smith Campus) participated in IEW dramatic reading organized by USEFP.3 Oakian High Achievers - Sharmeen Saqib (Wordsworth Campus); Eusabeha Pasha (Adam Smith Campus) and Hoor-ul-Ain Kashif (Newton Campus) were also honored by USEFP. The week was phenomenal success, with thousands of pupils engaged a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities – and most importantly, everyone had fun and stayed safe.
