17 August, 2018 · Celebrating Global Friendship Theme @ Silver Oaks
Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. It’s a strong form of interpersonal bond as friends are the family we choose. To celebrate this beautiful bond, the first Sunday of August is observed as Friendship day every year. First World Friendship Day was proposed in 1958, by the World Friendship Crusade and on April 27, 2011, the United Nations declared July 30 as official International Friendship Day. Friendship Day is celebrated in honor of friends who make our lives special and are the pillars of social support we all need. On this day, people share their friendship bonds in different forms - the exchange of Friendship Day gifts like flowers, cards, wrist bands, message, a telephone call etc. To commemorate this day, as Global Citizens, on August 3, Oakians indulged in various activities like poetry, skits, and cards and dedicated the day to their beloved friends. Learners of Preschool made friendship bands for their friends.
