09 February, 2018 · Oakians Win Green Living National Competition – 2017/18
Green Living Association, for the 7th year running, held a national competition for students from Grades 1 to 8 who were required to familiarize themselves and undertake research on ‘Climate Quest to Combat Global Warming – one of the most critical issues of the contemporary world. Global warming, which is a gradual rising of Earth's temperature, is different from all threats to our world, representing a scale of a threat greater than anything humans have faced in recent history. No doubt, our responsible and timely approach could save our planet from the mortal impact of Global Warming and help in giving humans healthier lives and in saving many species from extinction. 2017 was the 4th year of our engagement with 664 Oakians participating in the event to expand their knowledge on this critical Global Citizenship aspect. Like the previous years, our students, yet again, gave a great account of themselves and have won at national, regional & city levels. We are very proud of our TOP 5 National Winner, Saira Safdar, Grade 7, Sir Syed Campus, for bagging the title of “Crown Green Angel” National Award; Javeria Saif, Grade 6, Newton Campus and Qirrat Zeeshan, Grade 4, Galileo Campus have won the “Bright Green Angel” Regional Award while Hina Ashfaq, Socrates Campus; Eisha Zafar, Carnegie Campus; Abdullah Waseem, Galileo Campus; and Ahmed Hassan, Darwin Campus have all won “Super Green Angel” City Award. Congratulations to all the participants and winners. You rock and will help shape a better world for us!
