November 14, 2017: “The International School Award (ISA) acknowledges school collaboration internationally and provides a framework for recognizing schools that: (a) Champion international work and collaboration with partners to build and develop lasting relationships; (b) Benchmark best practice and share professional development in teaching and learning; (c) Engage young people in both the global economy and global citizenship and develop their skills for life and work; (d) Support whole-school projects that contribute towards school improvement; (e) Enrich education through international work.” In 2015, Silver Oaks, had won 9 awards across the country (highest number of awards received by any one institution, globally). We are proud to share that in the second cycle, run in academic year 2016/17, Oakians have won 12 International School Awards today, reflecting the effectiveness of our Global Citizenship focus from pre-school years. In the process, our pupils partnered with 25 schools across 14 countries and 45 schools nationally while sharing multiple activities around culture, civics, values, reading, speaking, numeracy, history, geography, science, and health. We have, in the last three years, engaged 25,000 pupils, teachers and family members (by extension) and have set ourselves a target of connecting 100,000 global citizens by 2020.
