Independence Day Celebrated @ Silver Oaks
“Land of the pure”, the literal translation of the word Pakistan, gained independence and sovereignty, over the East & West Pakistan territory, on 14th of August, 1947 (27th Ramadan according to the Islamic Calendar) through efforts and sacrifice of millions of remarkably committed Muslims of the sub-continent led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Although the nation, annually, celebrates Independence Day with much fanfare and passion, we, the people of this nation, are miles away from the unity – faith – discipline code of our founding father. Conversely, at Silver Oaks, while celebrating Independence, our intent was to get Oakians focused on giving thought to the role each and every member can plan in shaping the future of this country. Within this context, Oakians were provided reference content to develop and deliver Urdu Speeches on the theme with topics of “Mera Pakistan” (Grades 1-3); “Youn Di Humain Azadi Kay Dunya Huee Hairan” (Grades 4&5); “Hum Zinda Qoum Hain” (Grades 6-8). Pupils of pre-school enjoyed Green and White color day with Show & Tell activities and singing national songs. LONG LIVE PAKISTAN!
