Silver Oaks Schools & College and Telenor Pakistan joined hands to introduce i-Champ for students – this is an introduction of most useful and popular websites for student information and learning. To access, students can go to a browser app (www.freebasics.com) and get redirected to a menu covering multiple categories for surfing through their areas of interest. During the practice session, students were guided to use “Free Books by World Reader”. This app also includes dictionary (Hmari Web) that not only translates words from English to Urdu but also from Urdu to English thereby helping students in both languages. Initially, 200 students of Secondary School (Adam Smith Campus) were given the orientation. In a screening contest, 40 students were short-listed in Round 1 & 20 were selected as finalists from Round 2, each receiving a participation certificate. The three winners of the final round were: Ayesha Mukhtar, Grade X (1st); Dua Arsalan, Grade IX (2nd); Eusabiha Pasha, Grade IX (3rd). These winners will now compete in the Regional & National Level Contest to be held in May/June, for winning an educational scholarship. Good luck to our champs – we are all rooting for you!!
